LARRY GRIFFIN

I went to Penn State Univ. (Class of 1973), with a few other Central grads. Received a degree in accounting & finance. I have worked in the checmical & energy industries, economic development, a homeless center and banking. I am also the board chair for a charter school, which is constructing a $10M facility in North Central Phila. (17th & Cecil B. Moore Ave.)

My favorite teachers were Mr. Disharoon, who skewered me in class as I tried to make like I read "How Green Was My Valley". It didn't take him long to unmask that I didn't do the reading. I didn't like the book at first, but after Mr. D said he'd give me another chance (an not an "F"), I did read it... and liked it, actually. My other favorite teacher was Dr. Keynes, who fueled my already-stoked interest in government and politics. I carry that interest with me to this day
