After Central, I went to Drexel University for a BS in Physics. I then went on to Florida State University for a MS and PhD in Nuclear Physics (1979). I did my degree using a particle accelerator and went on to jobs at several accelerator laboratories around the US building and operating accelerators. I have been at the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Laboratories since 2000 as head of the electrical enginnering group.
For the last 5 years I was a project manager at ORNL for a variety of systems. I retired in 2015 and am working part time as a consultant on high field superconducting magnet systems and design of scientific facilities.
