 Gentlemen;

I was listening to NPR today and heard that the First African American to win a gold medal in the Olympics was a Central High graduate! (possibly 1902) His name was John Baxter Taylor. He went on to U of Penn in 1903. His parents had been slaves. This is an amazing story of great personal character and it is also a Central High story. Here are a couple of links. Spread the word. It seems to have been a forgotten story and deserves our attention.
