I knew Jay since elementary school. He a buttoned-down, serious guy in fourth grade. I didn't believe he had died when people told me, because Jay seemed as impervious to trouble as Mt. Rushmore.
My fondest memory of Jay was when he came back to my home and I had him ride my father's Morgan Horse. We went out into Pennypack park and as the horse began to canter, he bucked once, causing Jay to end up onto the horse's head and ears. Needless to say that was the end of the ride. Nice guy. Sorely missed.
