Franklin St. Philadelphia, PA 19123 VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES Roman Midzak, a senior systems programmer for Harleysville Insurance Company, died at his home on Friday, July 22, 2011. He was 59. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Mary Szczerban Midzak and the late Andrew Midzak. Roman worked as manager of computer operations for Conrail for over 28 years before moving on to Harleysville Insurance; he worked there for over 10 years. Roman is survived by his wife, Oksana Andrijiwskyj Midzak; his children: Peter Midzak (Shannon), Steven Midzak and Lesia Lampton (Neil); his mother, Mary Midzak; his brothers: Taras (Olga), John (Helen), Rev. Ihor and Andrew; his mother-in-law, Maria Andrijiwskyj; his brother-in-law, Ihor Andrijiwskyj (Zenia) and his nieces and nephews: Andrew, Paul, Katrinna, Natalie, Michael, Mark, Nicholas (Maria), Joseph, Gregory, Jonathan and Andrew. His viewing will be held on Tuesday at 8:30 AM at the Fletcher-Nasevich Funeral Home, Franklin & Brown Sts. Panahyda prayers will be sung at 10:30 AM with Requiem Liturgy celebrated at 11 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 830 N. Franklin St. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Elkins Park, PA.

His son Steve teaches at Cheltenham HS and coaches soccer. A really nice kid.

Man, Roman was a fearsome goalkeeper. He was like 6'3 aqnd as strong as an x. A really good guy, too.
